Q: Can you tell me where you get your fabric printed?

A: My organic cotton fabric, knitted here in the midlands is also printed locally. It was challenging to find a way to get my designs printed that wasn't prohibitively expensive for low volumes. It's a key part of my brand and business so while I'm always keen to help fellow creatives and small businesses out, it is commercially sensitive information which I choose not to share. If you are looking to have your own fabric printed, a good place to start is

Q: Can I buy clothes for newborns to 6 month olds? Or for children aged over 6 years?

A: Yes this is possible depending on volume of orders in progress. Please email with your request

Q: The item I ordered is too small/big. What can I do?

A: Made to order items are exempt from the distance selling regulations act and cannot be returned unless faulty. PLEASE carefully check the size chart on each product page against an item that you already own which fits well. If you have still managed to order a garment which doesn't fit, in the first instance email with details of the issue including your order number. In some cases, it may be possible to return the item for an exchange, but this is completely discretionary.

Q: Can you do a placement graphic with additional customisations?

A: In many cases this is possible, email with your request.

Q: Do you wholesale?

A: If you are interested in retailing Phirefly Family products, please email with your enquiry

Q: What's so good about Organic Cotton anyway?

A: A news post will be coming soon on the benefits of organic cotton and why it's the preferred fabric for Phirefly Family but in the meantime, in a nutshell, its kinder to our bodies and kinder to the environment. Choosing just ONE organic cotton garment over a standard one is a brilliant step towards healthier futures for our children.

Q: Why does it take THREE WEEKS from placing my order to receiving my goods?

A: ALL Phirefly Family clothing is made to order by hand. ONE pair of hands which also have a lot of other responsibilities. Handmade clothing is sustainable and high quality, but when there are many orders awaiting fulfilment it takes a little bit longer than factory production. Currently, no stock is held in order to keep prices keen and respond to demand. The aim is to turn around orders within a fortnight but at busy times (such as the current launch period) this can take up to three weeks as supply chains are tested and order volumes spike. Please bear with me, it will get quicker and I'm doing my best to get your order to you ASAP.

Q: There are loads of independent childrenswear brands. What's special about Phirefly Family clothing?

A: Phirefly Family items made from organic cotton designed, knitted and printed in the heart of England. Nothing is imported. Each garment is designed, knitted, printed and made by hand within a 60 mile radius with an ethical, sustainable supply chain.

At the heart of Phirefly Family is the unique, exclusive, unisex print designs. I've spent 14 years honing my skills designing prints for major high street retailers including Next, Disney and F&F at Tesco. I'm now taking all of that experience and creating the kind of prints I'd like to buy as a parent of a toddler myself.

Q: Why is creating unisex clothing so important to Phirefly Family?

A: Gender neutral clothing isn’t just about challenging stereotypes, it also means that garments have more longevity in that they can be passed on to siblings or friends freely regardless of the sex of the children.

I believe that childhood is a time for play, fun and freedom from expectations based on whether one happens to be a boy or a girl. Boys can wear rainbows and girls don't just identify with princesses.
